Hello!
My name is Kevin Ray and I am the Executive Director and Founder of Everybody Act! Theater in Education & Communities.
I am thrilled to announce that Everybody Act! is a new face on the arts services provider scene and I look forward to developing creative opportunities with new partners. I chose the name Everybody Act! because it perfectly frames the dual purposes of my core beliefs when using theater with youth and community members: I believe that everybody can learn performance skills to act on stage and that everybody can take action in their daily lives in response to what they have created on stage.

I started Everybody Act! to provide quality theater programs for everyone. Theater is not just for professionally trained actors. It can be used by everyone to gain performance skills, learn about themselves, and pass on their perspectives to a wider audience. Over the past nine years, my work in the field as a teaching artist, community based artist and professional development provider has given me numerous joyful experiences using theater with anyone who was willing to take a risk and try it, sometimes for the first time in their lives. The work that excites me most centers around the many ways in which theater can be used as a medium to express viewpoints, reflect on our relationship to the world we live in, and create original theater that asks the audience open ended questions.
I am also very excited to announce the launch of this new website. On the site you can find out about Everybody Act!, what we do, who we work with, and what we expect the outcomes of our programs to be. In the coming months, we will continue to update the site to add more information about programs and partnerships. Our blog will also be updated regularly to keep you up to date on what’s happening. I hope you will come back and visit us often.
If you are interested in partnering with Everybody Act! to bring a workshop to your school, program, or community center, contact us by clicking here.
I am very much looking forward to the future of Everybody Act!, so as the song goes: “Curtain up! Light the lights! We got nothing to hit but the heights!”
